Selling your used goods has never been easier thanks to websites like Craigslist, which let you sell your previously loved items online. However, being able to buy and sell goods from your Facebook account using Marketplace adds an extra layer of convenience.
Here’s what to know about the platform and how to use it.
What Is Facebook Marketplace?
Facebook Marketplace is a classified ads section within the Facebook platform. It was initially launched in 2007 and featured categories such as job opportunities, items for sale, and housing for rent or sale. It didn’t gain traction at the time, so Facebook revamped and relaunched it in October 2016 and it has been live ever since.
You can post advertisements to sell everything from used clothing to previously loved books. In addition, you can search for goods you want to buy. Often times, the items on Facebook Marketplace have been previously used but sometimes you get lucky and can purchase brand new items.
You will receive notifications instantly if you are communicating with a seller or buyer. So you can peruse social media while you sell or buy goods.
While websites like Craigslist are also a good way to sell your used items, Facebook Marketplace is much more convenient since you don’t have to set up and monitor an additional account. Everything you need to start buying and selling is right at your fingertips.
