Google Photos for Android and iOS has long allowed you to quickly find places, things, and mark photos as favorites. The service now brings these very features to the web version, allowing you to find photos as easily on the web as you’ve been doing on your smartphones.
The New Explore Tab in Google Photos for Web
If you head to Google Photos right now, you’ll find a new option called Explore in the left sidebar. This is the equivalent of the Search feature found in Google Photos mobile apps.
Clicking on Explore opens a page where you see some of your photos in a grid-view. Your photos are divided mainly into two categories—Places and Things. There are several new features listed at the bottom of the page as well.
The Places section houses all your photos that have a specific place marked in them. The Things section, on the other hand, helps you quickly find real-life objects such as towers and parks in your photos.
Find Your Favorite Photos Easily on Google Photos for Web
In this latest change, Google Photos for web has added the Favorites option right in the Library section on the left sidebar. Clicking on this item reveals all the photos that you’ve marked as favorites in this photo management service.
You’ve had access to this feature in the mobile app for a long time, and the option was available in the same Library section in the phone app.
Now with Favorites available on the web, you’ll no longer have to reach for your phone to find the photos that you’ve chosen to keep separate from the others. You’ll be able to do this right from your browser.
Access to the Redesigned Google Photos Interface
Apparently, the company’s rolling out this feature gradually and this means you may or may not see these features in your Google Photos right away.
However, it won’t be too long before you start to notice these two options in your Google Photos account. Just keep an eye on the web version of this photo service, and you’ll see the new tabs as soon as Google rolls them out for you.
Meanwhile, you can access these two features from the Google Photos app for iOS and Android devices.
Quickly Access Your Photos and Favorites in Redesigned Google Photos
Google Photos for mobile offers many useful features, and these features are now slowly making their way to the web version of the service. Once these are available for your account, you’ll be able to get to the photos, places, and things that you want really quickly.
