HBO and Adobe Open Registration for Online Creative Jam

HBO and Adobe are working together to bring you the College + HBO Creative Jam with Adobe Rush. Join hundreds of other college students and get equipped with the skills to create an HBO-inspired video for a chance to win cash gift cards.

You can register to attend the virtual event for free on Eventbrite, but you must be an undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled at a college and residing in the US, Canada (excluding Quebec), or UK.

Additionally, you must register with your official campus email address.

The kick-off session—which will teach you everything you need to know for the creative jam challenge—will take place on Thursday, April 8 at 10am PDT. This includes an inspirational speech from a leader at HBO, details on the challenge, and training in Adobe Premiere Rush.

You then have until Saturday, April 16 at 10am PDT to record, edit, and produce your own video for the creative jam challenge. The finale event, where you’ll present your work to the HBO and Adobe judges, will take place on Thursday, April 22 at 10am PT.

Both companies stress that you own anything you make for the jam. “No spec work here! Project outcomes are a demonstration of your skills and process and participants own the work. Project ideas will not be used by HBO or Adobe,” the event description reads.

The prizes are as follows:

  • 1st place – $ 500 gift card
  • 2nd place – $ 400 gift card
  • 3rd place – $ 300 gift card
  • 4th place – $ 200 gift card
  • 5th place – $ 100 gift card

On top of that, the remaining final and honorable mention team members receive a $ 50 gift card. Teammates who submit the first 50 qualifying projects will receive a 6-month student subscription to all Adobe Creative Cloud apps (valued at $ 240).
